The Frankie Goes To Hollywood
convention took place at the historical Roosevelt Hotel in the heart of
Hollywood California. I spent some time walking around and taking pictures
of the area...

Let this be a lesson to civic planners. Trees don't stay as cute little 10

Stars on The
Hollywood Walk of Fame
Shooting the Stars on The Walk is a bit of an "Art" as you will see by the
varying degrees of quality and readability of the stars in the pictures

The first two stars on the walk are Elvis and The Beatles

on the right there).
Yours truly at Gene Roddenberry's star - the only one I cared about enough
to get a picture of with me in it.
Gremlin got a shot there too.

This was one of the Really Freaky Coincidental ThingsTM
that occurred during the weekend of the convention. The actor Carrol
O'Connor died on the first day of the con, then on the second day music
legend John Lee Hooker died. Their stars on the Walk of Fame are right
next to each other (that one in the middle is a blank). Thinking there
might be some weird kind of cosmic conspiracy going on, we checked the stars
before and after theirs to see what happened. One was an actor that had long
since passed away (and I can't remember now), the other was Don Johnson, who
is still alive and well to this day...
Little known fact, the stars on The Walk Of Fame are privately financed from
donors, and are taken care of by volunteers (above) and through donations.
Some of the older stars have fallen into a bit of disrepair, like Fay Wray's
